Honoring Marilyn Covey & Pamela Mainville
For Mountain School Where You Live (MSWYL) this year, we're honoring the service of long-time chefs Marilyn Covey and Pam Mainville.
Marilyn and Pam will both retire from the Mountain School in June. Together they represent 50 years—33 for Marilyn as Head Chef and 17 for Pam as Chef—of keeping Mountain School students, faculty, and their families not only fed, but nourished. Marilyn has also served as the editor of the alumni newsletter, Pearls & Seaweed, as well as the reunion organizer.
We'd like to help Marilyn and Pam savor their final semester and honor them at our MSWYL events by sharing a theme of enjoying Mountain School food. Alumni hosts can interpret this theme as they'd like: host a potluck with dishes from Marilyn's cookbook, make your own versions of favorite Mountain School meals, or try variations on Fudgy Oat Squares. Feel free to add something else to the good food—a walk, a tour, outdoor work—or not. Anything goes! It will be delicious and fun.
Ultimately we'd like to give Marilyn and Pam messages and photos—both of smiling faces and food made with love—from these events. Please sign up to attend a MSWYL event, and take photos while you're there! Most events are scheduled to take place over the weekend of May 12-14, but a few are planned for the weekend of May 20-21.
